For the sixth year, Global Volunteer Month, held from April 1 to April 30, celebrates those
who actively support their community through volunteering and civic engagement. With a mission to provide
scholarships and other financial support to residents of Northeast Connecticut who want to pursue higher
education, the Northeast Connecticut Education Foundation (NCEF) proudly features an all-volunteer board of
directors who are invested in the community.

The NCEF board of directors includes President Joseph Adiletta, Vice President Peter Deary, Treasurer Christian
Sarantopoulos, Secretary Gail Rooke-Norman, and members at large, Marc Archambault, William Brower, Pam
Brown, Edward Graff, Rusty Haines, Joseph Markley, Diana Rose, Elle-Jordyn Sherman, Steve Townsend, and
John Xeller.

In addition to serving on the board, all members are actively involved in Foundation committees, including a 10-
member committee that is currently in the process of selecting recipients for $180,000 in scholarships for CT
State Quinebaug Valley students. Led by chair and QVCC alumnus Eddie Graff, the scholarship committee will
cumulatively volunteer over 100 hours in the month of April alone. Throughout the year, board members also
volunteer their time at various fundraising events, including an annual golf tournament in September and the
Tackle the Trail race in October.

“On behalf of CT State Quinebaug Valley students and programs, thank you to this amazing group of Foundation
members who work tirelessly to help students achieve their education dreams and goals. I am inspired by your
dedication, volunteerism, and generosity, both financial and giving of your personal time. I am privileged to know
you and to learn from you,” noted Monique Wolanin, CT State Quinebaug Valley Director of Institutional
